The Paper is an online-only Community Newspaper Serving The Woodlands, Spring,  & North Houston, Texas areas.  We Mash Traditional and New Media Journalism and have a staff of editors/journalists and community reporters/columnists who help us to bring timely and relevant content to our site on a 24/7 basis.The Paper is the creation of Bob Gunner, a published writer, journalist, news editor and content manager who has worked in Houston-area media all of his professional career for such prestigious companies as The Houston Chronicle, Houston Community Newspapers and Clear Channel Radio.The Paper is a business model designed to explore and create new avenues of real-time online community news presentation and to implement inexpensive new avenues of advertising and promotional opportunities for local businesses to reach their target market audiences.Bob has always been a visionary and early technology adapter who in the beginning of the Internet going public, saw the opportunity for using it to distribute digital publications to the masses.  He was recognized by The Guardian UK as one of the first eBook publishers to publish and distribute original works on the Internet (http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2002/jan/03/ebooks.technology) and his business model was used by author Stephen King when he published 'The Plant' as an eBook.Having worked for Houston-area daily and weekly newspapers for so many years, Bob knew that dedicated Internet newspapers would someday become the norm with advances in ePublishing technology, eBook readers and mobile devices like the Apple iPad and The Kindle Fire.  He began developing a prototype community news and community portal website called Come To North Channel from 1999-2006 as a hobby.In 2008, after leaving Bayou City Media, Inc. in The Woodlands, publisher of Woodlands Online, where he was employed as cluster editor/content manager for four community portals and helped to develop the business plan for extending to many more, Bob began envisioning the development of the formatting and dynamic framework to create The Paper and launched in October of that year.  In the first year, the publication had 2.5 million page views, and in the third year effectively growing and building our base circulation, it is not unusual for one of our articles which posts to Google News for our coverage areas to gain 4,000-6,500 page views on any day of the week.The Paper has built credibility and recognition within our coverage communities during our short time in business, we have a Google PR of 4 out of 10, and Our articles appear in Google News usually as fast as we can post them in such categories as: the woodlands tx, the woodlands texas, the woodlands news, the woodlands mall, conroe tx, conroe texas,
