The SERENITY Difference:
At Serenity Women’s Care, you’re never just another woman in a crowded room, waiting to be seen. You are never just another woman at all. We treat you as the unique woman that you are. We take time to get to know you, not just your female anatomy. Our waiting room is never crowded because we don’t “double-book” appointments and we run on time. You’ll never wear a paper dress. You’ll never see a tacky medical poster. You’ll never have to deal with a rude person at the front desk. We’ll never talk down to you. If you call us, we call you back. In short, we treat you the way we would want to be treated. Come in and experience the Serenity Difference.

JeanAnn is known not only for her clinical expertise, but also for her soft voice, gentle approach, and compassionate manner with women of all ages, races and cultures, and life situations. She also has a fabulous sense of humor!
WHAT IS A NURSE PRACTITIONER, AND WHY SHOULD I SEE ONE?
A Nurse Practitioner, NP, is a highly educated health care provider who approaches health and illness, care and cure, from the unique perspective of the nursing profession. While an NP is a Registered Nurse, RN, her/his education far surpasses the level required for RN licensure. To practice as an NP, the most advanced level of nursing, a nurse must have a Doctorate or a Master’s degree in nursing, complete an educational program in a clinical specialty, and successfully pass a national certification exam in that specialty. NPs are required to continue their educations and recertify periodically to maintain a high level of excellence.
In practical terms, an NP may work very much like an MD. She will conduct a history and physical exam on a patient, order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests, develop a treatment plan, prescribe necessary medications, perform needed procedures, and conduct ongoing follow-up and treatment management with the patient. An NP may be a Primary Care Provider, PCP, or practice in one of many clinical specialties. She may work with physicians or work in her own practice. She may work in an office/clinic, hospital, emergency department, critical care or community setting.
What sets an NP apart is the emphasis on health promotion, disease prevention, and the well-being of the patient as a whole person. An NP, then, treats a person, not merely a disease. She will partner with her patient in managing health concerns. This is done not by just handing out a quick prescription while rushing out of the exam room, but with time spent listening, educating, counseling, and finding solutions.
Many years of published research have demonstrated the importance of NPs as healthcare providers, especially in the changing healthcare landscape. These studies have shown that NPs provide care that is equal to, or in some cases superior to, that of MDs with regard to quality, safety and effectiveness, and patient satisfaction.
Medical science and technology are advancing in ways that are hard to even comprehend. Physicians are moving into ever more complex, specialized roles, practicing at their very highest levels. In this rapidly changing environment, Nurse Practitioners are emerging as the healthcare providers of choice for many patients, meeting the needs for primary care and specialty care.
"I love this office! You are treated like a person and not a number. The staff is great and Jeanann is AMAZING!!! I got so LUCKY ! I was referred by my oncologist Dr. Michael Janicek and I actually look forward to my visits! In and out in about 30 minutes. You are treated like a human being and not an other number! Great home environment and personal touch! I've been going here for 2 years and will never go anywhere else!" -Kellie A.
"What makes Serenity Women's Care different from every other doctor I've seen to try and find relief from the unbearable night sweats, fatigue and mood swings associated with early onset menopause?
They listen. JeanAnn Schwark had all the right answers because she asked all the right questions, listened intently and thoughtfully to my answers, and then did the work with me to figure our exactly the course of treatment I needed.
I am so grateful to JeanAnn and to her caring, professional, knowledgeable staff for helping me feel better than I have in years. I'm sleeping through the night, my skin is clear and comfortable again, and the extra weight is finally coming off because I have the energy to exercise like I love to again. I can't wait to see what I accomplish with my recovered health!
Thank you, Serenity Women's Care!" -Erika T.
I came to Nicolette for my first professional skin care of any kind with an irrational fear of dermaplaning. She was so understanding and patient as I retold the internet horror stories I had read and eased me into the treatment. By the time the second face massage started I was already so relaxed and enjoyed the entire experience. She was willing to answer all of my questions about my home skin care routine and even sent me home with some samples. The whole team made what I thought would be an uncomfortable experience into a luxurious spa day
JeanAnn was kind, courteous and wasn't at all pushy or judgmental like other practitioners I have been to. She went out of her way to make me feel at ease in a situation that is typically not the most comfortable. Plus she actually took time to get to know me, asking about my life and hobbies. She also took the time to listen to my concerns and addressed them throughout the appointment, explaining things to me in a way that I could understand, which I really appreciated. Her staff were also friendly, professional, and helpful, and seem to really enjoy working there.
The office is beautifully furnished and feels very homey, not at all cold and sterile like most facilities. I will definitely continue to visit Serenity Women's Health for all of my women's health needs!
