Proven Weight Management Solutions
Managing weight is often the simplest solution to healing injuries or alleviating chronic conditions. Just losing a modest amount of weight can, for example, significantly reduce load on a troubled knee, often alleviating the issue. But it is also a struggle for many patients who have tried the old maxim of eat less and exercise more. Dr. Albano searched for years to find a solution to help his patients lose weight. He went to conferences, visited other clinics and regarded the various options. Let’s face it, there are a ton of programs out there. He found a successful program that works because it’s scientifically valid and here is accountability. There is a starting and a definitive end. He’s found that if you don’t cheat you will lose weight. The Albano clinic has partnered with a weight loss system that emphasizes ideal protein levels and offer a medically supervised program. Under our guidance you’ll keep protein levels normal while minimizing fat and carbs. Your body has no choice but to burn fat as fuel.
Ideal Protein has been evolving for over 20 years. This medically developed weight loss protocol and smarter lifestyle choices education offers our clients what they really want—a structured program that can put an end to constant dieting. Core Principles of Ideal Protein:
Learning to live off of the body’s own fat reserves. The body employs energy from three reserves: glycogen (carbohydrate), protein and fats. First the body depletes its simple and complex carbohydrate reserves and then turns simultaneously to its protein and fat reserves for energy. A person not in need of weight loss typically has approximately 1–2 percent of their body’s reserves from carbs, approximately 19 percent from their muscle mass and 79 percent of their body reserves from fat.
Simple and complex carbohydrates can prevent weight loss. The body stores approximately three days’ worth of carbohydrates, therefore, our protocol restricts sugars (simple and complex) until 100 percent of your weight loss goal is achieved…why? Because, as long as sugar is being consumed, your body may not be burning fat. Remember, the first source of energy is derived from glycogen (carbohydrate) reserves. Therefore, the core principle of the Ideal Protein Protocol is to deplete the glycogen (carbohydrate) reserves completely, in order to compel the body into consuming its fat reserve to burn calories.
How do we encourage the body to burn its fat reserves, but support its muscle mass reserves if both are depleted simultaneously? First, Ideal Protein foods are made with high quality protein. The quality of protein used in Ideal Protein diet products has an impact on effective protein absorption…the lower the quality, the lower the absorption. If protein absorption is low, you may not be able to protect your muscle mass and thus you will burn muscle along with fat. If you lose muscle while dieting, you may impair your ability to burn calories post-diet, as your body uses muscle mass to burn calories.
Secondly, our dieters use our nutrient-rich supplements such as Natura Multi-Vita, Natura Calcium and Magnesium, Natura Potassium and Natural Omega-3 Plus, key ingredients in muscle building and electrolytes. These supplements replace those normally found in foods restricted on the Ideal Protein protocol.

As a new patient I was very impressed with Dr. Albano. He helped me make a decision on a procedure that I needed rather than what I had come in for. What I originally came in for was not a safe procedure based on my injury and would have been just a band aid. He is extremely knowledgeable on stem cell therapy and regenerative orthopedics. He not only has done these procedures on many patients he has had them done on himself and knows the recovery time and process.

Dr Albano is extremely well-trained in both sports medicine and hormone optimization. He explains things thoroughly and clearly, making sure we’re on the same page. He spent a lot of time going over our questions. Our appointments have never felt rushed. He engages directly with his patients and has a relaxed and personable bedside manner. His staff is very friendly, efficient, and make you feel comfortable. I have recommended his office to several friends. Best doc I’ve ever been to. My wife also sees him. Outstanding!

Dr. Albano is knowledgable, experienced and follows scientifically based intergrative medicine. You can be confident as a patient that he cares and will provide excellent state of the art medicine. I'm a semi-retired physician and am able to pick and choose the best for my personal care.

My experience with Dr. Albano and his staff was great. He spent time answering questions so I felt informed. His staff is amiable and efficient. And, the best part is that the procedure has made my knee feel much better.
