A young pregnant lady in her early 20's with 3 kids was just trying to keep her head above water with only a high school diploma and no other career skills/training. Being pregnant I wasn't able to waitress and bartend so that meant no income. I couldn't see the light of things but I knew if I found a way, stuck to it with perseverance something good would come and we would financially be ok.
Just coming out of high school I had a wardrobe full of brand name clothing and some other odds and ends that I had no use for. So I started selling them one by one on Craigslist , Facebook and eBay, They all sold and I was able to "get by" but I was running out of stuff to sell. So I started buying brand names at very low costs from people and other markets, and made a few calls to some whole sale places and sold that stuff and that also sold.
I then had my son and what I had started doing worked while i was pregnant, I didn't want to leave him or my other kids so I kept doing it from home, but kept pushing and started selling more than just a few items at a time. I took Snuff my son and my other 3 kids to flea markets to sell, then started taking them with me to meet people to sell things or to mail things that sold on eBay. I had accumulated so much clothing at this point so i set my garage up like a store and sold from there . I loved being able to be home with snuff and the kids. I then started dragging my husband along to places buying and selling clothes.
Snuff passed away at the age of 16 months, so in honor of him we moved our massive amount of clothing into a store and now have made huge connections with whole sale companies for both new and used clothing, and also have a spot in our store where people who have brand names like I did and and want to sell they can come and turn their clothes into cash too. - moral of this story is if you want to do it you will find a way, if not you will find an excuse!
