JJ's Outpost Bar & Grill is family owned and operated. This is both a restaurant for the family and a bar. They are located right on the Apple River and have a very scenic view from their outdoor dining area. The owners take great pride in everything they serve and use only the finest and freshest of meats, seafood, vegetables, and ingredients. All of the food is homemade and they even churn their own butter! All of their steaks are hand cut on premises. They're cooked to perfection and served with your choice of potato, a house salad, and seasonal fresh vegetables. They have a smoker that can accommodate 400 lbs of food and they smoke all of their own meats. They smoke pork, beef, chicken, and turkey. They use a combination of Hickory and Apple woods for a naturally sweet smokey flavor. They feature a smoked turkey sandwich that is covered with their own homemade white BBQ sauce, like nothing you've ever tasted! They are now open for breakfast on the weekends!
