What is a certified nursing assistant training program?
The certified nursing assistant training program is a State of Georgia approved, comprehensive program that prepares students for the healthcare industry by providing education in the areas of basic nurse assistant training. A Certified Nursing Assistant works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse and provides assistance to individuals with daily living tasks.
PCT / CNA - What's the Difference?
This depends on where you live. Some (PCT) Patient Care Technician courses include EKG and phlebotomy training. However, in some work environments the titles CNA and PCT are used interchangeably. Some hospitals in Georgia may be hiring PCTs which you can apply for with your CNA license.
What is the Job Description of a CNA?
Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) provide care to patients, often in facilities such as hospitals, medical clinics, private duty nursing, rehabilitation facilities, and nursing homes. They generally assist patients with basic needs, such as bathing, dressing, mobility, positioning, eating, and grooming, among other things.
