Owners and barbeque experts “Big” Ray Cotton and his wife Camilla opened our doors in January of 2011, with the visions of creating Allen's ultimate barbeque experience. Because we are passionate about the food we serve you, our cuisine is made up of only the finest ingredients, techniques and love.
First the food was really good. I had the Thursday special dbl meat (chicken and sausage)baked potato w/spicy sauce. They used fresh smoked meat which they deboned and chopped in front of me all while having great conversation!
Now here is the amazing part as we were conversing I told them I found them online since I wasn't a local. Once I told them I evacuated my home Houston as a result of Hurricane Harvey. They not only offered me their well wishes and heartfelt concern, the young lady preparing my food offered to pay for it as well!!! The overwhelming feeling of empathy and love was present.
Big Rays is a place that I recommend for not only their great food but also their stellar service!!

I have lived in Allen for almost 2 years now and there have been maybe 2 weeks out of that time period that I haven't to Big Ray's at least once. I pretty much always get the same thing (rib plate with 3 bean salad and fried cabbage), and it is consistently mouthwateringly delicious. The ribs are good sized and fall off the bone, and are perfectly complemented by the tangy vinegar-based BBQ sauce (regular, I haven't tried the spicy). I definitely recommend trying the fried cabbage even if that doesn't sound good. It has tomatoes and bits of turkey meat in it and it is just a smooth, meaty, delicious experience. I highly recommend this BBQ joint!

Tonight was my first time here. I was very pleasantly surprised! We were greeted warmly when we walked in, and instantly felt at home. Greg was behind the counter and seemed very genuinely happy we chose to come to his establishment to eat. The cashier was a very sweet and funny girl! I was giddy to see Turkey legs and Bologna on the meat choices, as that's rare. The prices were very reasonable and the portions very generous. I got the Turkey leg platter and wow!!! The leg was enormous and smoked to perfection! Dark crispy skin on the outside, smoky marbled meat on the inside. The sides I chose were cornbread salad and potato salad, both absolutely on point. For dessert, white chocolate bread pudding! It was rich, decadent ooey gooey greatness. And, as if all the above weren't enough, there is Big Red in the drink fountain!!! The only thing missing was a wheelchair ride to the car, we were that full!!! Greg even stepped out from the counter and hugged me goodbye. Where do you get that anymore?? We WILL be back, and often!!!
